This Past Week:

Where do you love to be with your family? Students continued to inquire about their families and what makes them unique. During class conversations, students shared stories about their favourite places to spend with their families. Using loose parts as a tool to build student literacy through story telling, students built their favourite family spaces.

On Halloween, we continued to practice our drawing skills by completing a portrait of ourselves in costume. In addition to including the essential parts of a portrait such as head, eyes, mouth, nose, ears, body, arms and legs, students focussed on including details from their costume to add to their portraits. Included below are just a few examples of the costumes students depicted.

We continue to spend time exploring a variety of learning centres within the classroom.  During this time, students collaborate with one another, interact with peers whom they may not have had a chance to get to know yet, and try new things. Many lessons are learned during this  time as students are learning to share materials, use their voices in kind and respectful ways, be inclusive of one another and problem solve.
