·      Blanket
·      Blocks
·      Random Loose Parts
Letter Practice
(Approx. 15 minutes/day)

Represent our new significant word ‘Give’ using objects in your home. Challenge yourself to practice the word in both uppercase letters and lowercase letters.

Some ideas for representing the word:
·       Paint with water on a rock.
·       Build with Lego or blocks.
·       Place sand or rice on a baking sheet and write the word with your finger.
·       Create using playdough.
·       Write with sidewalk chalk.
After you have created your word, point to each letter and say its name and sound.

In the Cave
(Approx. 10 minutes/day)

Play this game with a partner.

·      Select 10 small objects to play this game with (rocks, marbles, coins...etc.)
·      Select a cup or bowl that you will use to cover some of the chosen objects. This will be the ‘cave’
·      One person closes their eyes, while the other partner covers some of the objects with the cave
·      When ready, the task is to try and figure out how many objects are in the cave based on the remaining objects

Have fun adjusting the target number to be less than or greater than 10 for an added challenge.
Sink or Float
(Approx. 20 minutes)

Collect a variety of objects that you would like to test to see if they sink or float. These objects must be able to be placed in water.

Make a prediction as to whether you think they will sink or float in water. What makes you think that?

Play with the objects in the sink or bathtub to explore whether they sink or float.

·      Were your predictions correct?
·      What do you notice about the objects that sunk and floated?
