This Past Week:

This week we continued to explore our mathematical thinking by sorting different objects by their size, shape and colour.  What can you sort at home by their size, shape and colour? Hint: You can practice sorting by shape and size by unloading the dishwasher at home!

"I sorted my bears by size: big, medium and small."

"I can sort by colour. I'm making lots of groups."

"It was hard to sort the purple than the brown, because it had way more pieces."

"We can sort with the rainbow. Where can we put the brown?"

"Can you tell I sorted by shape?"

Continuing to look at the world through the lens of science, we ventured outside this week to gather evidence of seasonal change. Students were asked to consider what changes they noticed in the natural environment that tells them Fall has arrived. Based on the evidence gathered, students generated a number of questions they would like to learn more about, such as "Why do seasons change?" "Why do trees lose their leaves?" and "Why do leaves change colour?". We look forward to investigating these topics further in the weeks to come.

We continue to build friendships while working together.

"We made a tower!"

"We made a friendship tower together."
